Plant Morphology

Strong, sturdy plants with strong flower development along the central cola. Floral initiation occurs around week 4. Grows vertically more than laterally but stays short and stout with large, deep green leaves, high calyx-to-leaf ratio, and very bulbous + granular calyxes that stack to form impressive softball-sized colas. 12.5% were purple with the majority staying light green.

Terpenes

Gas/rubber/chem, sour cherry and berry, slightly sweet and floral.

Effect

Silly and chatty. The genetics of this cross lean slightly indica, but the resulting high is very evenly balanced between energizing and relaxing.

Notes from the Grower(s): As Dirty Bird’s second autoflowering entry in the Alpha Series, the Gas Berry Auto is an F1 auto cross that stood out against the dozens of auto breeds we’ve tested over the past 18 months, and it is one that we are excited to continue working forward. The Gas Berry Auto is a cross of the Peach Crescendo Auto RF3 by Ethos and our own (Lemon Cherry Cookies [Fastbuds] x Sour Apple [Humboldt Seed Co]). The Gas Berry impressed us with its uniformity, vigor, and strong morphology from the very beginning, and that impression only deepened as we observed the plants develop throughout their flowering phase. As such, the project shot to the top of our list of most promising lines to continue breeding.

Overall, the Gas Berry has an excellent terpene profile that can be observed throughout its entire flowering lifecycle. Gas and rubber dominate the nose with berry coming in a strong second. Both the gas and the berry phenotypes have bright, sour cherry, and sometimes chemical undertones that translate to something very complex.  Approximately 75% had strong terpenes present, while 25% had observable terpenes, but they didn’t translate as strongly.

Morphologically, the Gas Berry is strong, sturdy, and homogenous. It is a great choice for grows with height restrictions, and it has optimal internodal spacing to produce large yields in tight spaces. Strong bud development down the central cola was prominent in 100% of our testing cohort, and the Gas Berry’s overall flower shape was very consistent across the genetic pool.  Buds were impressively large, round, and softball-sized, they had great med-high density, a high calyx-to-leaf ratio, and the calyxes were notably granular and bulbous making for super eye-catching flower. Approximately 12.5% of plants turned solidly purple during the flowering phase while the majority stayed a glistening light green color. The Gas Berry lacks lateral branching, instead growing vertically with a strong bud development along the central cola, so we think these would perform very well in a sea of green garden. The overall size, height, and morphology observed from plant to plant was very consistent and very manageable, they were beginner-friendly and easy to grow, and equally as easy to manicure.
