Plant Morphology
Broad, short, fat plants with high calyx-to-leaf ratio, lavender and deep-green coloring, fat, conical flowers, and very high trichome accumulation for autoflowers. Very high uniformity.
Terpenes
Sugary mint spritzer, lemon, and lots of bite! Mint Lemonade lives up to its name in the terp department, smelling and tasting like a mojito – sweet, tangy, herbal mint, and soft lemon citrus.
Effect
Mint Lemonade hits nice and smooth. This well-balenced hybrid both relaxes and motivates users, making mundane tasks both enjoyable and attainable.
Notes from the Grower(s): The pairing of the Purple Lemonade Auto by Fastbuds and the Mint Jelly Auto by Humboldt Seed Co—two of the most popular auto strains of the last decade—turned out predictably delightful for the Dirty Bird team. We have been chasing minty terpene profiles for years within our photoperiod breeding program, but his cross had the mint factor we have been searching for.
The Mint Lemonade really couldn’t have been named anything else due to the fact that it is so minty and so lemony. Even dried, the terpenes pop right out of the jar. But that’s not the only thing that stands out about these genetics. The Mint Lemonade Auto also has super dense trichome coverage, making the flowers take on an almost fuzzy appearance. This, along with the terpenes and the beautiful lavender-purple and spearmint-green color contrast, make for excellent bag appeal.
The morphology of this strain is highly uniform for an F1. Around weeks 7-8 you may notice that some plants are stacking on weight more quickly than others; however, by the end of flower—around day 80—the flower morphology will have synced up again, making for a highly uniform crop at harvest. Coloring may also develop at different times and late in the plant’s lifecycle, but by harvest we found these plants very uniform in virtually every way.
The Mint Lemonade plants take on a unique and distinguishable appearance in their silvery, lavender flower, stubby, broad fan leaves, and fat golfball colas. Flowers are conical with medium-high density and strong, chunky centers. The buds look like they should be dome-shaped because they are so fat around their perimeters, but they do come to a point at their tops. We found that about 15% of the plants we tested stacked really optimally down the central cola, so this is the pheno we will be selecting for when we make our F2s. The remaining plants were similar otherwise, but had more bare stem running up the stalks. All plants were short and squat and would do well in a height-restrained grow space. They were also all very easy to process and trim with very little leaf in the flower and great density.
By and large, the Mint Lemonade is one of the best F1 crosses we’ve made thus far. Despite it being incredibly limited, we wanted to share the seed we have with our community while we continue moving this strain forward and honing it in even more. Enjoy!
